The Future Sound of Yoga with Angel and Matt
Practice yoga to dynamic South Asian beats into the evening, then see a performance and dance on into the night with the Parramasala festival in full swing .
The Future Sound of Yoga is a sensory experience involving music and movement. The movements are a combination of traditional yoga poses and dance. A live DJ creates the soundtrack of electronic South Asian beats and rather than strict instruction or striving to achieve complex yoga poses, we are more about switching off the mind, connecting with the body and letting go. The yoga unlocks the body; the music energises the room and brings the focus into the present.
The session runs for 90 minutes.

Angel discovered yoga when working in London, and explored many different classes, teachers and styles. In 2004 she began training to become a yoga teacher and in 2008 quit the corporate world to teach full-time. She now teaches yoga across Sydney to people from all walks of life, ranging from children, to corporates, to individuals in specialist one-on-one classes (for more details see: www.angelyoga.com.au). She has also taught at the Dharma Shala in North Bondi, Trinity Yoga in Port Douglas, retreats across Australia and the Earth Festival.
Matt’s passion for electronic music began in the late 90s. While studying philosophy at Oxford and playing a jazz-funk collective, he became fascinated by the dance music scene in London. Inspired by the culture, he started travelling the world to tap into other areas where dance music was igniting: Goa, Haadrin, Burning Man. In 2003, he moved to Sydney and it was here that he began to experiment with synthesisers, electronic composition and Ableton Live. Today, in addition to the Future Sound of Yoga, he is focused on production, remixes and DJing at other events around Bondi and Sydney.
